Vladimir Spivakov on the performance of Alemdar Karamanov’s Requiem.

The Moscow Christmas Festival of Sacred Music, featuring musical masterpieces from different eras, cultures, and church traditions, concluded with a performance by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov.

The performance of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia with the piece «Requiem» by Alemdar Karamanov was the finale of the Christmas Festival of Sacred Music.

«People cry at concerts here, and their souls are cleansed. In today’s world, a world of chaos and universal negation, there must be some spiritual milestones that help people remain human,» said Vladimir Spivakov.

The final concert featured «Requiem» by Alemdar Karamanov.

It was Alfred Schnittke who called him a true genius among talents.

«A special composition is written in a canonical form, it consists of 12 parts, the fact is that we simply discover the world in different ways, but there is one thing that is accessible to very few people, it is called a revelation, this music is imbued with a revelation that comes down from above,» explains Vladimir Spivakov.

The concert was attended by the Masters of Choral Singing choir.
